Ingredients
250 g unsalted butter (room temperature)
120 ml buttermilk
45 ml basil oil (see recipe below)
1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
Instructions
Beat butter with a mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (3–5 minutes).
Gradually add buttermilk, basil oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Mix until well combined and fluffy.
Basil Oil
Ingredients
25 g fresh basil leaves
120 ml olive oil
Instructions
Blanch basil leaves in boiling water for 10 seconds, then immediately transfer to ice water.
Drain and pat dry with a fresh kitchen towel.
Blend basil leaves and olive oil until smooth.
Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a container.
